Three Suffer Data Breach

The UK Mobile phone company Three has suffered a data breach it was reported yesterday by The Guardian. Reports suggest when customers were logging into their accounts they were presented with the names, addresses, phone numbers and call histories of complete strangers.

Three said customers experiencing the problem should contact its customer service department about the technical issue.

The ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) said it “will be looking into this potential incident involving Three”.

The story has also reported on by engadget who quote a Three spokesperson as saying “We are aware of a small number of customers who may have been able to view the mobile account details of other three users using My3. No financial details were viewable during this time and we are investigating the matter.”
